The background
Eight Miles High is a film production studio based in Nuremberg, Germany, with a reach that extends to Munich and beyond. The studio operates at the intersection of creative filmmaking and performance-driven marketing, producing commercial films (Werbefilme), brand films (Imagefilme), social media content, and employer branding videos for some of the world's most recognizable brands.
Their client roster reads like a Fortune 500 directory: Adidas, Puma, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens, Jeep, Foot Locker, InterSport, SportScheck, Fraunhofer, Lilium, Nivona, Hörluchs, Kaweco, Staedtler, DaVinci, Lupine, and more. With over 250 completed projects, 364 shooting days logged, nearly 600 terabytes of archived footage, and a perfect 5.0 Google rating, the studio has built an exceptional reputation for high-end video production in the German market.
The team, filmmakers, storytellers, photographers, and marketing strategists, works under a clear philosophy: “Creative Heart. Production Brain.” Every project starts with strategic conception and ends with channel-optimized playout, covering the entire chain from first idea to final distribution.
The challenge
Eight Miles High's work is cinematic, high-energy, and visually stunning. Their previous website wasn't. The core challenge was a credibility gap: the studio was delivering world-class productions for global brands, but their digital presence didn't reflect that caliber.
Several factors shaped the brief. A film production studio's website is essentially its longest-running showreel, potential clients judge production quality by the website experience before they ever watch a single film. The site needed to feel like a production itself: immersive, paced, and visually commanding. Eight Miles High serves multiple audience types, brand managers at global corporations, marketing leads at mid-sized companies (Mittelstand), and agencies looking for production partners, each with different decision-making criteria and different levels of sophistication. The site also needed to be a functional business tool: generating qualified production inquiries, showcasing case work in a way that drives conversion, and responding to inquiries within 48 hours as the studio promises.
The brief was to build a website that is itself a cinematic experience, one that demonstrates the studio's production quality the moment a visitor arrives, before they click a single play button.
The solution
Keeways worked with Eight Miles High to design a website that functions like one of their productions, meticulously paced, visually commanding, and impossible to look away from.
We led with motion. The site opens with an animated logo sequence that establishes the studio's identity before anything else loads, mirroring how a film opens with a production company card. This transitions into a full-screen video header showcasing behind-the-scenes production footage, immediately immersing visitors in Eight Miles High's world. The message is clear before a single word is read: this is a studio that operates at the highest level. Every scroll interaction is choreographed, sections reveal progressively, images fade and shift, and content unfolds at a rhythm that feels deliberate, not decorative
The cases section was designed as an interactive showreel, not a static portfolio grid. Each project, Staedtler, Hörluchs, Nivona, Lupine, Puma, is presented with a hover-to-play interaction that lets visitors preview the work without leaving the page. This keeps engagement high and reduces the friction between browsing and watching. The layout shifts between featured full-width showcases and tighter grid compositions, creating visual variety that mirrors the diversity of the studio's work across commercial film, product video, and social media content.
The brand trust layer is woven throughout. A scrolling logo wall featuring Adidas, Puma, BMW, Siemens, Mercedes-Benz, and over 20 other clients runs early in the page, establishing credibility before the visitor reaches the services section. Client testimonials from Siemens, Kaweco, DaVinci, and Hörluchs are presented with full attribution and role context, each one reinforcing a different strength: professionalism, creativity, reliability, and results. The studio's hard metrics (250+ projects, 364 shooting days, 594 TB footage, 5.0 Google rating) are displayed in an animated counter section that makes the scale tangible.
On the conversion side, the site is structured around Eight Miles High's 48-hour response promise. The contact section is prominent, accessible, and low-friction, name, email, and a single message field. The process section (Anfrage & Vision → Strategie & Konzept → Content Creation → Playout & Distribution) is placed strategically to demystify the engagement model for first-time clients who may be unfamiliar with commissioning film production. The site also includes dedicated landing pages for location-specific SEO, “Werbefilm Imagefilm Nürnberg” and “Werbefilm Imagefilm München”, capturing high-intent search traffic from the studio's two primary markets.
